Maternal Care

Shiatsu and Acupuncture are safe and effective therapeutic supports for women as they evolve through the stages of maternity, including conception, pregnancy, labor, delivery and postpartum care. Perinatal sessions are catered to a woman’s phase of pregnancy as well as her specific symptoms and concerns. Such sessions are an enjoyable way for women to supplement their OB/GYN/midwife/medical care to attain more comfort, confidence and health as they progress through their pregnancy to motherhood.

Nutrition & Herbal Medicine. Nutrition is an important component to all phases of maternal care.  George helps guide mothers and mothers-to-be with individualized dietary suggestions so that they and their little ones stay healthy. Also Chinese Herbal medicine has a 2000 year old history in the use of gynecology and pregnancy.  Such guidance can help during the following stages:

  • Conceiving
  • Infertility
  • IVF support
  • Frequent Miscarriages
  • Health of Offspring
  • Postpartum Recovery
  • Breastmilk quality

Studies show that the maternal diet plays an important role in the health of children, especially when it comes to reducing eczema and asthma.  A healthy maternal diet will also make pregnancy much easier and reduce the likelihood of complications. In addition, postpartum depression can often be averted with a proper diet during and after pregnancy.  George helps mothers determine precisely what that diet should be.

“…The soup herbs have really helped! I made it right away and ate a bowl a day. Since then, I’ve started working out again and feeling overall more alive and “awake”! Also, it tastes pretty good too. I’m about to make another batch. Thank you!”
